Prepositions of time and prepositions of place

  

Prepositions of time:

express information about when an event occurs. 

The prepositions used to refer to a certain space of time or when consulting the time on a clock are the following: On, In, At.

The verb be joins together with the prepositions to form a more complete sentence.

On we use it for days and dates

In for facts or moments of the day, long periods of time, weeks, years, months, decades etc.

At indicates an exact or precise time

Examples:

On satuday                                          In 2008                                                     at 4:15

On june 2 nd                                       In the morning                                         at  midnight

On sunday afternoon                         In eleven minutes                                      at day next 


Prepositions of place: 

allow us to say exactly where things are or where we are or to locate a place.

We use them with the verb be.

at we use it at the exact point we want to locate.

in we use it in closed or covered spaces

on is used to say surfaces or extension
